Is It Safe to Go on Holiday Right Now?
With ongoing global events and changing travel advice, many travellers are asking the same question: is it still safe to go on holiday?
The good news is that many destinations are still considered safe to visit according to the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). While travel advice does change from time to time, there are still plenty of places where holidays can go ahead as planned.
Recently, the FCDO updated travel alerts for 75 destinations, organising them into three categories of guidance to help travellers better understand where caution may be needed and where travel can continue as normal.
These updates are part of the FCDO’s ongoing efforts to ensure travellers have clearer and more accessible information when planning trips abroad.
It’s important to remember that travel advice can change quickly depending on global events, so it’s always a good idea to check official guidance before you travel.
I’ve included the full list of destinations mentioned in my video below (updated as of 4th March 2026) so you can quickly see which countries are affected.
